Introduction of the Adópengő

The Adópengő (Tax Pengő) was introduced in late 1945 specifically for taxation purposes.  In the following months it gradually became the preferred currency for many purposes.  On July 12, 1946 the Post Office finally recognized the Adópengő and quoted all rates in that currency.  However, Adópengő denominated stamps were not available until July 15.
