The Fredersdorf Overprint
Issued from July 2, 1945. Technically valid through Oct. 31, 1946 but rarely used after Dec. 1945.
The overprint is the signum of Fredersdorf postmaster Franz Massino.
1. Genuine overprints
The genuine overprints are handstamped in shades of violet ink. Pay particular attention to the shapes of the letters and the thickness of each individual stroke. The thickness of the outer ring and it's distance from the central circle is an important characteristic of the genuine overprint.
