Forgeries
The most deceptive forgery
is printed in an intense dull black ink.
The forgeries are slightly
larger than the genuine overprints.

The Type II forgery
mimics the Type IIa overprint, but the block at left is not divided.
For both overprint types,
the base of the ‘9’ lacks the upward recurve.

The forgeries were printed
in se-tenant pairs with Type II over Type I, an impossible combination.
Because of this, many of the
pairs were later broken up.
